Sat Sang: On-going yoga philosophy meetings.

For many years now I have been meeting with a core group of people who are interested in advancing their understanding of the monumentally rich spiritual culture that is India. We started out as a group of people coming together to discuss the finer points of this ancient spiritual philosophy, then soon discovered we were really doing was delving into the finest aspects of our very own beings. Since yoga is both a philosophy AND a practice, our discoveries are both fascinating AND relevant. Every time we pick up one of the many scriptures belonging to this tradition and spend some time with it, we are happily reminded of how timeless and accessible this wisdom actually is.

This course brings us into the esoteric inner world that is "yoga." We find out what the "rishis," or sages, were discovering about themselves and the universe thousands of years ago. Through their direct personal experiences into the very nature of life, they then shared their findings with whomsoever desired to listen and learn. Today we have the benefit of sharing in their findings, for centuries later through an unbroken oral tradition, these teachings where then put to writing in the form of scriptures. In this course we read from dozens of such scriptures: The Upanishads, The Bhagavad GitaThe Yoga Sutra(s) of PatanjaliAshtavakra GitaHatha Yoga Pradipika to name but a few ... We read, discuss, laugh, chant meditate, share, and dive into the depths of what these teachings have to say about what it means to be in this human struggle with all its joys and sorrows, and how to ultimately awaken to your truest Self.

The pre-requisite for this course is having a basic understanding of yoga philosophy. A  200 hour yoga teacher training course is recommended though not 100% mandatory.  Equivalent education is also recognized.
